The Company

Our client are an established Media and Events organisation with a range of cutting edge media tools including exhibitions, online and published magazine products. They currently require Sales Executives to work on an already established network of successful and growing Fine Food and Drink Shows that takes place at venues throughout the UK and cross sell into their Food and Drink Magazine. Their innovative Food and drink exhibitions are one of the biggest of its kind in the UK providing specialist food and drink exhibitors with the opportunity to place their produce directly in the hands of potential customers. These high profile events bring together producers, food connoisseurs, amateurs, local chefs and Michelin star chefs in a festival of food and drink, with tastings and demonstrations.

 The Role

Based from their office in Edinburgh you will be responsible for selling a range of exhibitions space, advertising and sponsorship opportunities to business customers in the fine food and drink industry throughout the UK and further afield. Working within a dedicated Media sales team this is a very creative role where you will be contacting existing customers from an already established warm database of clients as well as sourcing leads and generating new business over the telephone via cold call telemarketing. Clients will include food and drink manufacturers restaurants, style bars and associated lifestyle companies ect. This is a structured sale where you will identify the business needs then create, design and present innovative media and marketing solutions tailored to the client to ensure results. This will involve negotiating and presenting bespoke solutions to key decision makers over the phone and occasionally face to face. Working to revenue targets and deadlines, you will be responsible for dealing with a range of customers from SME’s to corporate clients on a national basis. You will also spend time at designated competitor shows sourcing leads and developing relationships.

The Candidate

To be considered for the role you need to have experience and a strong track record of developing new business and managing accounts from within any events, advertising or media sales sector (magazine, newspaper, publishing, outdoor, radio, exhibitions, etc).  You will have a solid understanding of the sales process. You will have a high activity rate, be very comfortable cold calling and closing deals. You will be PC literate and creative with the ability to deal with all levels. You will be commercially aware, motivated and enthusiastic with an ethical approach to sales. You will have the tenacity to drive sales forward coupled with a real desire to work in the exhibition sales sector. You will be PC literate, creative, ambitious, articulate, proactive and quick thinking.
