JOB TITLE: Support Workers

SALARY & BENEFITS: £7.40ph - £9ph

WORKING HOURS: Full-Time on a rotation basis, year-round

Our Leicester based client are a support service for Children, Young people and Adults with challenging behaviours, assisting them to live independent lives in residential accommodation.
Using a person-centred approach, they strive for the highest level of care and support for all users, continuously developing their services.

Based in Leicester, our client is recruiting passionate, empathic and caring individual's to join their small but friendly Support Worker team.
Keeping with a family feel you will assist users to live independent ordinary lives. This is a varied role, where you will be expected to assist and teach users to effectively live as independent as possible, this could be as small as helping prepare meals, days out or even holidays.
This is a year-round role and on a rotation basis over days and nights.
Ideally, you'll have experience with individual's with complex behaviour needs, however, this is not essential as full training is provided, along with further development and education. You must demonstrate a caring dispersion and an understanding of the core values of social care.

Please note a driving licence is not essential, however, this would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities of a Support Workers to include:-
  • Supporting residents in all aspects of their home and social lives
  • Supporting individuals with social opportunities
  • Assisting with domestic duties such as; cleaning, cooking and shopping
  • Assisting with personal care
  • Taking residents out in the community to visits and activities
  • Liaising with other staff members and outside agencies
  • Maintaining records and ensuring information is kept up to date
  • Ensuring health and safety is adhered to and all relevant risk assessments are completed
  • Understanding Autism and the effects it can have on daily life

The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.

The ideal candidate for the Support Worker role will be caring, approachable and compassionate by nature with excellent communication skills. You will be resilient and able to deal with challenging behaviour. Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided.

Key experience essential for the Support Worker role:
  • Happy to undertake an enhanced DBS check
  • Previous experience with individual with complex and challenging behaviours would be an advantage.
  • Able to work year-round on a rotation basis – both day and nights
  • Any form of formal education within health and social care would be an advantage
  • Ideally, have a driving licence and able to drive the company vehicle
