The job is permanent and the salary £40 - 45000 the role will focus on: " Close relationship with all suppliers " The main link between company and suppliers " Manage supplier development and ensure company needs, current and future are met by our supply base " Find and develop new suppliers as required " Full understanding of product development, ideally an engineering background, and knowledge of toys " Experience of working with suppliers globally, especially China " Understanding of QA/QC and Do's and Don'ts for toy safety " Help all NPD get into production without issue, setting up manufacture if appropriate Job Specification Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer/QA Manager Department: Sourcing, Vendor Management and Quality Assurance Reporting To: Head of Sourcing, Vendor Management and Quality Assurance The Role A Supplier Quality Engineer is required to manage our QA/QC programme and supplier development throughout the group. The department supports various activities throughout the product development lifecycle and this role will ensure the safe and compliant delivery of high quality product to the market place. The successful applicant will report to the Head of Sourcing, Vendor Management and Quality Assurance and will be tasked with managing all QA/QC issues and the development of our supplier base to meet the on-going and future needs of the business. Main Areas of focus: " Manage the Intl Safety and Quality assurance programme " Manage the group relationship with external labs " Manage the Intl Code of Conduct " Support and assist supplier development to meet the future needs and quality standards of the business " Support suppliers to establish appropriate improvement programmes based on identified non-conformities and risk areas. " Ensure that all products comply with current legislation in all markets " Ensure all product markings and legal lines are compliant with market requirements. " Arrange product tests and safety assessments " Conduct Supplier pre-audit assessments " Conduct and manage audits of supplier facilities, systems and capabilities " Review, amend, and manage group processes and procedures for the QA/QC function " Support and assist with the sourcing of suitable suppliers " Be the 'Operational' focal point for all quality issues, judging when it is necessary to consult or escalate particular issues. Effectively investigate, implement corrective actions and resolve all issues. " Proactively advise the business on legislation changes and issues that may impact the business. " Gathering, analysing and reporting the performance data of suppliers and ensuring any corrective action required has been implemented. " Maintain the product catalogue and testing register. " Manage the QA/QC department budget as necessary. The role will be London based, however at times there may be a significant requirement for travel to our manufacturing sites in China, Europe, USA and Asia. The hours required will be between 09:00-17:30 it is expected that there may be occasions where calls need to be arranged for later in the evening or additional hours worked if needed. " Fluent English Essential experience, skills and requirements: " 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality Management / Quality Assurance within a Global International company, ideally in a similar environment E.G. Toy/FMCG " 3 years' experience in Production, QA, and Safety testing or similar environment. " Supply chain experience and a clear understanding of critical paths and process " Graduate calibre. Preferably in Manufacturing Engineering or similar areas - a technical background required " Self-starter, must be able to work under own initiative or part of a larger team. " Solid knowledge of standard business applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access). " Excellent attention to detail. " Strong analytical skills. " Confident and questioning nature combined with the ability to listen. " Strong business acumen.
