We are on the lookout for a reliable and hardworking Sous Chef to join this fantastic brigade in Wantage. This idyllic gastro pub with a kitchen team of 5 is proud to hold 2AA rosettes and is looking to push for their third in the next six months. They have been lucky enough to have reached number 31 out of 50 UK pubs, within the good food guide and have a strong chance of being in the next year’s edition of the Michelin guide following a recent inspection. The pub is busy all year round averaging 500 covers per week, producing seasonal menus using fresh, local produce. The Role: Deputising in the Head Chefs absence Managing junior staff and helping them with career progression Maintaining a safe a hygienic kitchen environment Helping the Head Chef create and write menus Sous will be on Larder 2 days, Sauce 2 Days and 1 Day floating The Candidate: Previous experience at 2AA rosette level preferred Ability to delegate jobs accordingly Able to manage food purchasing and storage A strong willingness to learn and improve Benefits: Immediate start Combination of splits and straight shifts 28 days’ holiday Accommodation available Salary £28,000 £3,000 - £4,000 Tips All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
