PHP Developer / Web Developer We are seeking a PHP Developer / Software Developer (PHP / JavaScript) to join a leading learning platform provider who develops innovative systems for employers, universities and FE colleges. With offices in both the UK and USA our client has been trading for over a decade and are considered as one of the rising stars of the industry. Working with major clients such as BP, University of Cambridge and Barclays their focus is on the creation of social and games-based learning technology for use on the web. In addition, they develop a number of SaaS platforms in an Open Source environment, leading to wide exposure and opportunities for the development team. A role has opened up for a new PHP Developer / Software Developer (PHP / JavaScript) to work on their clients core platform making online learning a personal, social and measurable experience. You will join a team of six taking responsibility for delivering the creative vision on projects that will reach hundreds of thousands of users. The development team is a high performance unit with smart people working on difficult problems and hitting regular release deadlines. To qualify? You should be a PHP Developer / Software Developer / PHP Web Developer / Web Engineer / Software Engineer with a CV that demonstrates: A background gained in a similar PHP Development / Software Developer role; A degree level education or equivalent (preferably Maths, Computer Science or similar); Knowledge of PHP working in Laravel and MySQL; Exposure to RESTful / on-rails style API integration; Exposure to MVVC / MVVM frameworks (e.g React, AngularJS); Asynchronous module based development experience (preferably RequireJS); A grasp of the principles of NoSQL data, preferably MongoDB would be an advantage. Any Test-driven development knowledge or experience with the design and development of online learning technologies would be an advantage, including specifications such as xAPI, SCORM and LTI.
