Programme Finance Manager, International Development Charity Fantastic brand new opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join this International development charity in Cambridgeshire. Ideally part or fully qualified (ACA/FCA, ACCA/FCCA, CIMA or CIPFA) or with equivalent real world experience and an interest in professional development, you will work closely Director of the charity’s International Programmes, you will be taking a lead in the development of an on-going assurance framework for governance and financial controls to manage and mitigate identified risk. Amongst your responsibilities will include identifying key areas of governance/ financial risk, to establish a framework to monitor as well as mechanisms to determine minimum levels of quality assurance. You will be assisting in the development of regular finance reports and contributing to budget monitoring, requests for funds process and the preparation of new budgets and project applications and in close association with Programme staff assume responsibility for review and validation of accurate quarterly, bi-annual, annual expenditure reports for submission to donors. In conjunction with Internal Audit and Regional Finance Managers you will develop due diligence processes for in-country financial assurance of the supported projects, proactively identify weaknesses in country specific financial procedures and systems, and make recommendations for possible solutions. You will also assist in the elaboration of the charity’s budgetary framework, working on the consolidation of the programme portfolio into the overall programme budget for the charity; Identifying overall funding requirement, Projecting cash flows in partner currencies and overall FX exposure and developing a cost recovery model for the organisation. Previous charity sector experience is not essential but you will have at least 3 years practical finance management experience in the commercial or charity / NfP sectors and the ability to prepare accurate, relevant and clearly presented management information. Highly numerate with excellent spreadsheet and generally strong IT skills, you can demonstrate a sound experience in report writing to extract information from large, multi-site databases and a sound knowledge of the management accounting requirements of an international non-government organisation (or a clear ability to transfer existing skills) Sound interesting?
