Working within a large, dynamic Marketing team, this hands-on role will involve a wide range of marketing duties, with a particular focus on external PR activities, raising awareness and ensuring wider publicity of the brand vision and values, across both printed and digital platforms, to maintain the companies position as one of the leaders in the industry. The successful candidate will possess a professional yet personable character, a team-spirited work ethic and have high attention to detail as they undertake this varied and rewarding role. JOB DESCRIPTION Working closely with the Marketing Co-ordinator, Digital Content Co-ordinator, and the Marketing Manager, the role will be a varied one. In particular, you will be responsible for: • Producing a coherent PR plan to be adopted and deployed across all external media. • Developing a proactive approach to external PR activities ensuring initiatives are promoted timely and effectively in line with the PR plan and within the overall marketing strategy. • Working on creating well written copy for regular press communication via both direct mail and EMS. • Looking for creative ways to provide keyword rich copy for various company blogs and providing support to the digital content coordinator on the social media activities. • Writing releases and providing editorial support in both trade and consumer press. • Building and sustain good company relations with key journalists and editors through both face-to-face meetings and remote communications. • Planning publicity strategies and campaigns, including identifying potential brand advocates and consumer influencers, and encourage brand messages to be fully utilised. • Monitoring, recording and reporting on extensive PR and advertising activities. • Undertaking all aspects of proofreading and the maintenance of information accuracy across marketing activities. • Helping to administer and develop the existing CRM database of press contacts to maintain the accuracy of information and relevance to potential marketing activity • Providing support and assistance to the organisation of any exhibitions, whether UK or overseas • Helping in the launch of new products within each market/sector by providing information and new photography upon request. • Undertaking competitor analysis and market research. • Working with the Graphic Design team in the coordination, art working and checking of price lists. • Assisting the team in a broad range of more generalised marketing activities such as mailings, brochure distribution & retailer support. PERSONAL SPECIFICATION Candidates should possess: • Education to Degree level. • Minimum of 2 year’s experience in a PR, copywriting or marketing environment • Experience & understanding of press communication methods and tools • Extensive skills using Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and Outlook, with a knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, PowerPoint and Sage being an advantage but not essential. • Creative thinking with a dynamic 'hands-on’ approach • Ability to comprehend quickly new technologies and software • Pro-active and responsive to generate new opportunities • Excellent organisational, time management and multi-tasking skills • Excellent interpersonal skills complemented by the enthusiastic attitude required of a team player • Ability to work under own initiative to achieve and exceed our goals.
