Role: Health, Safety and Environment Manager Location: Bristol, South West - Commutable from Bath, Swindon, Chippenham, Trowbridge, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Weston Super Mare, Cirencester Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum To provide professional support and guidance to the Manufacturing Unit/Business Unit Leadership team on all operational HS&E matters and Manufacturing Unit/Business Unit Strategy delivery in alignment with Group HS&E policy Key Accountabilities Drive HS&E performance improvement at a given location's to deliver agreed KPI targets Ensure the location's HS&E policies and systems are managed effectively to support the adherence to all relevant HS&E legislation and agreed internal standards Monitor and embed the location management processes, including the investigation of all lost time incidents and management of the incident recording system, to ensure a safe working environment is maintained Ensure that HS&E incidents are reported to the enforcing authorities, in accordance with the requirements of relevant regulations, to ensure legal compliance Lead the HS&E location's audit programmes to ensure compliance with agreed standards and recommend areas for improvement Co-ordinate and manage local Stakeholder relationships (EA, HSE, Customers, Local Community) and ensure no compliance issues Develop and deliver the location's HS&E plan in conjunction with the location's leadership team to improve HS&E performance Ensure that HS&E matters are considered in all Capex projects in line with Group policy and insurance requirements Develop and implement Behavioural Safety/Environmental Awareness culture development activities across all functions to support the vision of keeping people healthy and safe Ensure the effective performance management of any direct reports and coaching/talent development of Line Management to support the delivery of the HS&E plan Knowledge, Skills and experience National/professional qualification (preferably at degree level, or equivalent qualification/experience) in Health, Safety and Environment and/or experience in HS&E advisory role gained in a manufacturing environment or related field Up to date knowledge of HS&E legislation Track record of implementing HS&E improvement initiatives Due to the high volume of applications we receive it is not always possible to respond to unsuccessful applicants.
