As a Data Scientist at Skyscanner you can expect a wide variety of challenging Big Data projects enabling our engineering, marketing, growth and product teams to identify and decide on the actions which will drive our success and benefit our millions of global users. You can offer us: Proven expertise in Software Development and Data Analysis and a real passion for Big Data in Software Engineering, technology and development Key Responsibilities are: · To write specialist code for Data Science projects according to specifications · To examine existing software and determine requirements for new or modified systems in the light of business needs · To apply statistical and advanced analytical techniques to optimise business performance · To determine the appropriate method of data collection and research methodology for the business · To analyse and interpret information to identify issues concerned with strategy, policy, organisation, procedures, methods and markets and recommend analytically based solutions · Continuously test and correct new and existing software · Implementing and evaluating the code for the Data Science projects We can offer you: An excellent career move – complexity, challenge and real variety The space to be trusted to do what you do best. What do you need to apply? · Degree in Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Machine Learning · Experience in a Web economy or other tech environment featuring high volumes of complex and occasionally imperfect data · Proficiency in Python, R or similar and familiarity with libraries such as Pandas and SciKit-Learn · Experience Developing, Deploying, Testing and continually improving Data Science solutions including tools; dashboards and automated solutions · Keen interest in Machine Learning and its application to drive success · Experience of Big Data Technologies e.g. Apache Hadoop · Proven Expertise in Statistics - Quantitative Data Analysis including Statistical tests, Predictive Analysis, Trend Distributions · Visualizing and presenting Data & Analysis to technical and non-technical Decision Makers in a readily understood form · Commercial Outlook– you can identify ways to use our data to create value for our users and partners Closing date for applications is 21st October 2016 This job was originally posted as
