Job Title: Refurbishment Engineer (Powered Access platforms & Lifting) Reports to: Refurb Centre Manager Function: Refurbishment Centre Engineering Operations Location: Manchester (M17) Job Purpose: HSS Hire built and opened its brand new, world class engineering centre in January 2016 for the refurbishment of equipment including generators, scissor lifts and other plant equipment. As a Refurbishment Engineer in our specifically designed and new purpose built Refurbishment Centre, you will assess, repair and carry out all tasks associated with the refurbishment of a select range of equipment whilst maintaining the quality, safety, reliability and availability of the products in a cost effective manner. In this role you will take responsibility for overhauling, servicing and maintenance of a wide range of powered access equipment, carrying out the refurbishment of equipment and products where necessary. This will include types of equipment such as: Scissor lifts, booms, cherry pickers and tele-handlers etc. Job Responsibilities: Overhaul, maintenance and repairs of a range of powered access equipment including electrical testing where required Carry out refurbishment of equipment and products a defined standard Liaise with the Lead Engineers and RCM when major parts are required to ensure cost effective repairs Ensure service records are maintained and updated onto the internal computerised system (Spanner) and daily worksheets are populated Ensure that all equipment is prepared to the highest standard ready for hire Maintain and ensure maximum Refurb Centre productivity in line with company plan Adhere to company guidelines on Health & Safety at work at all times Promote teamwork between colleagues to ensure delivery of an effective Refurb Centre performance Ensure the work bays are safe, tidy and organised at all times Represent the company and values ("HSSness") of the business and portray a professional and businesslike image to all customers, potential customers and other people you meet in the course of your work. Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required: Essential: Experience in maintaining mechanical and electrical plant or equipment Solid Engineering and Technical background Open to attending relevant manufacture/product training courses provided internally and externally Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a skilled team Be a key driver and serious about safety. Desirable: Driving licence desirable IPAF license desirable Experience working in a similar industry Product knowledge of the powered access range of equipment Product knowledge of construction plant equipment Hours: 42.5 p/w: 7am - 4pm (Mon-Fri) Salary: Competitive (negotiable) Benefits: Company pension, healthcare scheme, 28 days holiday including stats, cycle to work scheme, car lease and many more.
