IT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER London £52,000 - 60,000 perm benefits Profile One of the leading education institutes is currently recruiting for an IT Development Manager to come on board and lead the Development Team within IT Services. The successful candidate will manage, lead and direct work within a team of highly motivated and professional software developers and analyst within IT Services providing first class support and delivery. Knowledge and Experience Essential Broad experience of managing the full application lifecycle across a range of enterprise-class applications Evidence of having authored high quality technical documentation Experience of working in a controlled project environment (e.g. using methodologies such as PRINCE2/Agile/Scrum) Extensive knowledge of development of client/server and web applications, including Oracle, SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio/.Net, Java Experience of working in a challenging and complex environment with evidence of having been involved in the delivery of significant Software development projects. Extensive technical knowledge and experience of developing client/server and web applications, including Oracle, SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio /.Net, Java, C#. Up-to-date knowledge of IT security threats and experience of having devised, implemented and tested disaster recovery and business continuity plans Experience of providing responsive support and request services under service level agreements and targets. Experience of producing high quality documentation and operational documents to support new and existing software / application architecture Skills Excellent written and oral communications skills with ability to present technical content to a wide and varied audience. Ability to liaise effectively with colleagues at a range of levels within the organisation, and with external contacts. Good influencing and negotiating skills Ability to plan and to prioritise own work and that of others within a team where necessary. Ability to think creatively and devise innovative solutions to difficult problems. Ability to handle a complex and changing workload and priorities Ability to produce reports, proposals, policies and other documentation to a high standard Experience of having managed a high- performing team and to manage and develop technical support staff Qualifications Degree (preferably in a science or technical subject) or equivalent relevant work experience Certified application developer, e.g. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Spring Technology is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
