Planning Engineer - Southampton - Petro Chemical Site - 6 Month Contract (MINIMUM) - £35 - £40 per hour - Limited / Umbrella Pay Company Outline Cordant Technical & Engineering are currently working in partnership with a U.K leading engineering business. The company mainly specialise in; Engineering, Repair & Maintenance, Mechanical & Thermal Design, Explosive Engineering and Welding developments. They have a massive impact on the majority of the U.K power and petro chemical stations within the U.K and due to a recent project win, they are now supplying a key client and acting as the main contractor on a large petro chemical site in Southampton. Role Outline We are currently recruiting for the role of Planning Engineer. The purpose of this role is to focus on planning, scheduling and preparation of projects and routine mechanical maintenance works, as well as monitoring and control throughout the life of the event with reporting progress. You will initially be engaged in pre planning of the project which will be 3 months then move on to project execution to completion. Responsibilities Develop fixed weekly works schedule on 'Integrated scheduling Tool ( IST ) Forecast of future planned workload Review, prioritise and plan day support manning requirements, liaise with Alliance Management as required to obtain additional manning. Organise and manage off-site fabrication for piping and steelwork fabrications Expediting material procurement. Liaise with client plant and reliability engineers as appropriate with regard to advice or approval for unique requirements and technical developments. Convene reliability planning meetings. Estimate and generate the most cost effective actions. Ensuring the safety of all employees by enforcing and driving the 'nobody gets hurt' philosophy of Client Safety system (LPS) Relationships with key stakeholders is developed and maintained by achieving continuous improvement on site to enhance the company footprint. Attending and leading daily and weekly meetings focused on managing and improving the following: - Safety performance, commercial contract issues, Onsite productivity performance inclusive of potential areas of improvement. Requirements Previous experience within a heavy engineering department is essential. Ideally from the Nuclear, Petro Chemical or Power Generation sectors Qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Ideally HNC / HND Must have a hands on approach to work Ability to liaise with all members of staff ranging from general operatives up to senior management Great knowledge and experience in the use of Primavera Experience in the use of Microsoft Project Points of Appeal £35 - £40 per hour. Dependent on experience 6 Month Project.
