My client, a leading infrastructure group, is currently seeking a Senior Buyer for our Plant Service Business Unit which will be based in Nottingham or London. Reporting to the Project Partner, the Senior Buyer will work closely with the Delivery Unit and project staff to meet the procurement schedule for projects and ensuring best value deals at competitive market rates is agreed for materials management within heavy plant, road plant and rail plant. You will: Ensure project requirements are met and best value deals are negotiated to meet and exceed business targets. Manage total annual spend typically up to approximately £20 million per annum and higher risk/complexity. Support the bid winning teams by providing procurement expertise into tender process. Leads 'multi-disciplinary' source teams through ITT process for contracts over £100k or higher risk to select the best supplier. Negotiate agreements for project that support on time delivery and meet Safety and Sustainability requirements. Negotiate supplier agreements at bid stage for nominated projects. Represent Procurement on the Safety Leadership Team. Support business improvement programmes around the spares / consumables management process. Skills and experience - Materials management experience MCIPS or equivalent qualification. Ideally you will have an appreciation of Plant or a similar business. Expert procurement, project management and procurement processes experience. Basic Category Management knowledge. Working knowledge of COINS/P-cards and/or other similar systems. Advanced negotiation skills. Proactive and solution-orientated. High energy and impact; self-starter, with a flexible but robust approach, able to work autonomously and as part of a small team.
