Professional Technical is currently seeking to recruit an experienced service engineer to join a globally recognised automatic door specialist. The position is based in the North West of England and will be classed as a home based role although you will be required to travel to the manufacturing facility (Midlands) for parts on an adhoc basis. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established innovator within the entrance systems industry.

You will be responsible for the service and maintenance a wide range of automatic door system's although the majority of work will be based on automatic sliding doors, automatic swing doors, and automatic folding door systems. The long term company vision is to break in to the industrial door industry so a knowledge of industrial door systems such as roller shutters, loading bays, dock levellers, sectional doors, overhead doors, fast action doors, or rapid rollers would be an advantage to the business although not an essential requirement. The successful candidate will be ideally already working for an automatic door manufacturer or door maintenance specialist.

Location: North West

Basic Salary: £25,000-£28,000 (40 hour week)

Benefits: Fully stocked van, 3% pension scheme, healthcare scheme, sick pay scheme, death in service cover, 31 days holiday, mobile phone, tablet, £880 annual standby fee, excellent overtime rates.

The role is predominantly a field based role covering the geographical area between Stoke and Preston. A company van is provided for the role and the successful door engineer will be paid hourly, with working commencing upon the engineer leaving the house in the morning (travel is paid in addition to basic salary). The role will involve servicing and maintaining automatic doors and occasionally some industrial doors.

To be a credible candidate for this service engineering role, you will need to satisfy the following minimum requirements:

- Experienced engineer within the door industry

- BS7036 qualified or EN 16005 Qualified

- Good mechanical and electrical background

- Service and maintenance skills essential (installations experience beneficial)

- 17th Edition - ideal but not essential

- Automatic door experience
