My client is an internationally recognised brand. Due to growth they are now in the market to recruit an additional Payroll Officer to work cohesively with the current team.

To effectively manage the company’s payroll and associated administrative tasks

The post holder is responsible for:

• Processing and supervising 2/3 monthly payrolls including pensions administration, c 700 staff
• Completing the transition onto the Cascade payroll software package from 2 legacy systems
• Delivery of a high level of payroll service ensuring that all processes work effectively
• Liaising with HR team to ensure all payroll information is updated in a timely manner on Cascade payroll system
• Processing year-end issues specifically preparation of tax returns, P11D’s; PSA and P60’s
• Ensuring all online pension administration is accurate and up to date and pension contributions are calculated and remitted in a timely manner
• Communicating with HMRC when required. Dealing with HMRC and other third parties’ (CSA, etc) queries
• Producing payroll reports and journals for accounts system
• Continually analyse, develop and maximize the payroll/admin practices for the benefit and needs of the business
• Providing continual and relevant updates of payroll and taxation issues to the Finance and HR Teams
• Assuming responsibility for all benefits, taxation and NI issues
• Keeping up to date with changes in payroll and benefits legislation
• Processing of Tax Returns which include collating information,
• Submitting to HMRC, refunds and payments. Liaising with third party tax specialists for support and advice.
• Communicating with all levels of staff relating to queries to payroll and benefits

Skills Required

An established payroll professional with significant end to end payroll experience
Experience of Cascade advantageous
A relevant payroll related qualification
Ability to work without close supervision
Knowledge of International taxation and preparation of tax returns
Confident and capable with payroll software
Good working knowledge of MS Office
Able to produce and present simple reports
Able to communicate professionally with close colleagues, other Departments and outside organisations e.g. HMRC

Qualifications Required

Payroll related qualification - CIPP or similar
Experience of Cascade preferred
