Company Profile: Our client is a world leading manufacturer of tracked and wheeled excavators ranging from 7 to 46 tonnes.

Job Location: Staffordshire

Job Position: Principal Design Engineer -Drivetrain / Driveline

Job Status: Permanent

The Role:

To lead major design and development projects focused on running gear and Driveline components for tracked and wheeled excavators.

You will take each project from concept to manufacture, managing budgets and schedules.

You could be working from an engineering brief or arrangement models.

Either way, you will promote cost reduction and quality improvement, while encouraging innovation.

In this senior role, you will be expected to complete Product Improvement change notes and liaise with Company Engineers in other countries such as Brazil, China and India.

With teamwork and creativity, you will help the Company stay at the cutting-edge of their field.


Ideally a Chartered Engineer

You can carry out analysis, calculations and drive train design.

Experience could include any of the following:

Axles, drive-shafts, transmissions, tracks, wheels, driveline components.

You can also handle test procedures, rig operation and test equipment.

With knowledge of CAD, SOPs, engineering sign-off procedures, and quality and manufacturing functions too, you will be an experienced professional with proven project management skills.

A good understanding of the global mobile drive train component supply base would definitely be an advantage.

Your technical expertise comes with a gift for communication

You can chair meetings, present to small groups and represent the Company.

You are also able to support and influence colleagues, making valuable contributions to product development strategy and system discussions.

Salary/Rate: £45,000 - £55,000
