Reporting to: Deputy Technical Manager & Technical ManagerBased: Technical Department, Waltham Cross. Occasional travel may be required.Hours: Normally 0800 to 1700, Monday to Thursday, 0800 to 1600 on Friday with flexibility required to suit work load.
Key Contacts: Suppliers and customers. All internal Departments Some contractors.Qualifications: Food based qualification preferred or a Scientific background.Ideally a graduate looking for their first role.Experience: Experience in the bakery ingredients industry an advantage, but not essential. Full training will be provided.Personal Qualities: Strong communication skills, orally and written. Ability to work under pressure. Focussed on customer service. Structured organised approach to work. Able to work as part of a team, deputising as necessary, and to use initiative and ATTENTION TO DETAIL.Key Job Elements: The role is wide ranging, covering the provision of information to customers and meeting the needs of our BRC Storage & Distribution accreditation. It will include:
Customer Service:·Completion of self audit questionnaires from customers.·Completion of customer format specifications·Response to enquiries on applications and specifications.·Sourcing and supply of customer samples.
Supplier Assessment:·Assessment of returned supplier questionnaires.
Complaints:·Recording and investigation of customer complaints.·Complaint summaries and trending reports.·Daily check and monitoring of quarantined stock in the warehouse.
Specifications:·Development and issue of K&B format specifications.·Issue of short format specifications.
Internal audit and calibration:·HACCP, Food Safety, Equipment and other internal audits.·Calibration.·Glass & rigid plastic audits.
Routine product examination and analysis:·Routine product analysis.·Life extensions for products nearing end of life.·Organoleptic assessment of new & existing products.
Training:·Maintenance of training records and matrix.·Issue of induction training to new starters.
