Mechanical Fitter / Teardown Mechanic

Mechanical Fitter / Teardown Mechanic is required by Aerospace Precision Engineering Maintenance Company. This is a permanent position offering an attractive salary and benefits. The ideal candidate will dismantle aircraft components into their individual parts prior to overhaul/repair.

Key Performance Measures:

- To work effectively and efficiently at dismantling landing gears without causing damage to components.
- To embrace and actively improve the LEAN processes.
- Ensure all KPI targets for the department are met.
- To adhere to strip lists and target dates.

Mechanical Fitter / Teardown Mechanic Key Responsibilities:

- Proven ability of disassembling mechanical and electrical components.
- Provide own general tooling and toolbox.
- Work to tight production deadlines.
- You will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book.
- An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company's environmental procedures.

All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures.

Knowledge and Experience:

- The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a mechanical related background
- Good manual dexterity
- Illustrate previous knowledge and use of hand tools
- Basic PC skills
- Good understanding of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Personal qualities:

- Ability to work with minimum supervision and using their own initiative.
- Teamwork and Quality.
- Ability to use overhead cranes and slings.
- Able to demonstrate time keeping and punctuality skills

Qualifications required:

- Ideally applicants will have served an apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Forklift experience preferred.

Starting Salary:

£21,482 pa - (Basic £18,631 pa plus shift allowance of £2,851).

Increase to £22,660 Inc. Shift Premium) after probationary period.

Shift: Double day shift; i.e. 6.30am - 2.30pm and 2.30pm - 10.30pm on alternate weeks (Mon-Fri)
