Gi Group Hull are currently working with an east Hull manufacturing company for the recruitment of a Team Leader in a busy Powder Coating environment. The firm are established in the area, with the capacity to increase their workload considerably. The primary objective of the Team Leader is to direct the manufacturing processes on time and to cost, as defined by the Manager - Supervising a team of 8-10 staff on a daily basis.

Main Duties:

- Understand the current/future production requirement
- Liaison with the Manager where customer requirements are not clear
- Understand timescale and priorities
- Ensure that equipment is maintained/stored/used correctly, customer precut is stored on racking/pallets
- Act as the lead for HSE activities across the business
- Support the Manager in addressing all HR and Quality issues
- Lead the processing of customer products
- Preparing items for subsequent processing - Cleaning, deburring, chemical etching etc.
- Loading items/parts onto the carousel - Ensuring the weight limits of the carousel are not exceeded
- Powder Coating items
- Finalising items in line with Customer requirements (bungs etc.)
- Wrapping, packing items to prevent damage/loss etc.

- Maintain the storage of consumable materials (i.e. powders, etc.) and ensure that there are sufficient amounts of such items to support ongoing production
- Support the Manager to ensure that suitable numbers of skilled staff are assigned to each area/skill and that new starters undergo induction/training

Person Specification required for the role of Team Leader:

- Previous supervisory exposure desired in the manufacturing sector
- Familiarisation of all associated HSE requirements and the general dangers of a workshop environment
- Knowledge of operating the machinery/equipment employed within powder coating or similar
- A proven ability to read/comply with 'engineering drawings' and/or verbal instructions
- A knowledge of coating processes and prep such as degreasing/cleaning/assembling items using traditional workshop tools and materials
- Counterbalance Forklift certificate advantageous

Salary: £9 per hour, flat rate (no overtime rate)

Hours: 38 hours a week

Times: 7:30 to 16:00 Mon/Thurs and 7:30 to 13:30 on a Friday
