I am currently working with a secondary school in the Luton/Dunstable area of Bedfordshire, who are currently looking to recruit a Teacher of Science to join their thriving school on their journey to becoming 'Outstanding'.

The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and be fully committed to improving outcomes at all levels as well as having the ability to work hard and to have high expectations of themselves and their students. The Role of Teacher of Science

- To plan and prepare effective lessons
- To teach and manage students learning
- Ensure students progress and that they meet or exceed their targets
- Manage one's own performance and enhance the working atmosphere and ethos in the school by working effectively as a member of a team, setting good examples to all and taking responsibility for one's own professional development
- Potential of being a form tutor to a group of students
- To support the wilder life of the school community and its individuals

Teacher of Science Requirements

- Honours degree in a related subject and a postgraduate qualification advantageous
- Previous experience of successful teaching practice
- Understanding of the National Curriculum at KS3 & KS4 and requirements of GCSE syllabi
- Ability to inspire and engage the confidence of students, parents and colleagues
- Be able to give and receive effective feedback and act to improve own performance and that of others
- Competent ICT skills
- Excellent attendance and punctuality record
