Very well established bus company is looking to add an Operations Managerto its team.
The duties of the role include:

All day to day reporting to DVSA on service disruption, reporting accident and serious incident to the police and claims handlers and liaison with local authorities as appropriate.

* To manage the Operations Department to deliver robust network services in line with Company Policies, Regulatory Standards and Statutory guidelines, deadlines and requirements.
* To contribute as part of the Executive Management Team to the future direction of the business and to achievement of the company's Strategic Vision and Mission.
* To promote and role model the agreed Values of the organisation.
Key objectives:
* To ensure that all staff undertake their duties in compliance with company policies and procedures at all times.
* To ensure that the necessary resources are allocated to meet Departmental requirements and Standards in order to provide excellent levels of customer service at all times.
* To ensure compliance with all DVSA requirements.
* To ensure that a safe and healthy work environment exists by adhering to company health, safety and environment policies, and ensure full compliance with relevant legislation.
* To deliver all the requirements of Company policies in particular those designed to improve People Performance and Engagement.

You will have responsibility for4 direct reports, 300+ indirect reports.

* To manage the day to day performance of the department in delivering bus and coach services in an efficient, effective, robust manner and in compliance with all legal and employment law.
* To comply with all legal requirements related to the safe and efficient running of the department.
* To manage and control all operational activities within agreed budget and targets.
* To develop and improve staff performance and morale.
* To ensure compliance with all relevant statutory standards including punctuality.
* To deliver efficient, effective and robust control systems and processes and ensure compliance.
* To manage and control the prevention of accidents.
* To ensure strong relationships with key stakeholders and clients.

* Relevant experience of managing a bus operations function.
* Management and development of a significant workforce.
* Familiarity with relevant bus and coach systems and processes.
