Location: UK - West Midlands

Our customer is a world leader in the provision of complex, special purpose machines and capital equipment. They supply principally into the OEM's and their partners in the automotive, heavy duty, off highway and motorsport sectors. Recent years have seen them grow considerably and there is potential for significant, sustainable future growth.

Reporting into the Managing Director the Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Manager will be required to provide leadership of the QHSE Management Systems (ISO9001, OHSAS18001 and ISO14001). The QHSE Manager must have a proactive approach to QHSE in raising the awareness and profile within the business, driving change and leading a culture of Continuous Improvement. Through appropriate communication channels the QHSE Manager will ensure compliance in line with legislation and corporate policies and procedures to ensure best practice by working with the Human Resources Manager, Purchase Manager, and Production Manager.

- Ensure a safe work environment by effective communication with all company employees and visitors to site.
- Provide leadership and communication in relation to Quality Assurance (QA) with suppliers and manufacturing, and guidance to Sales and Order Fulfillment on matters regarding the Health and Safety for projects on customer sites to include requirements for CDM (Construction Design and Management) Regulations.
- Provide leadership on matters in relation to customer requirements relating to QHSE.
- Ensure Company compliance in line with legislation by implementing, managing and improving management systems.
- Overseeing all internal and external audits including, but not limited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
- Oversee all risk assessments in line with legislative and company requirements.
- Investigate reported incidents and any failure of QHSE.
- Co-ordinate all training for QHSE requirements.
- Co-ordinate regular QHSE committee meetings. Provide a monthly report to the UK management team and attend QHSE meetings, monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably required commensurate with the nature of the job and level of responsibility.

Skills, Experience and Attributes

- At least 3 years' experience in Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental management.
- Recognised CQI or IRCA qualification in quality or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Environmental Management or equivalent.
- Experience in Problem Solving techniques (e.g. 8D, Shainin, Taguchi, Six Sigma).
- Experience in automotive engineering industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Valid Driving license & Passport
- Lead Auditor Qualification
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
- Experience of CDM sites and associated documentation
- Membership of a professional body or eligibility
- CSCS card
