Excellent opportunity to join our impressive, large and expanding Global client working within their Accounts Payable team based in Quedgeley, Gloucester. They are currently recruiting for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join them initially on a three-month temporary basis however due to the size of the organization future permanent opportunities could be available for the right candidate.

We are looking for a bright candidate, possibly a graduate though willing to consider someone with strong A levels/Diploma ideally in a mathematical related subject like Maths, Economics, Accounting.

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accounts for a bank of suppliers that provide the company with services all over Europe.

Routing invoices for approval to the various sections of the business, coding the invoices to the general ledger accounts, dealing with supplier queries, reconciling vendor statements to ensure their accounts are clean and up to date, to ensure that our service suppliers are paid on time.

You will also be responsible for a bank of Freight vendors for transportation goods all over Europe. Freight invoices have to be checked against accruals, and often simple and complex calculations and adjustments need to be made if the accruals do not match with the invoices.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will need to be confident when dealing with senior staff within the company, and suppliers. Resilient attitude, it's common to be criticized by both suppliers and other internal departments if you make a mistake or do not pay suppliers on time.

Must be able to perform complex calculations such as foreign exchange & proportionalising freight cost adjustments across multiple purchase orders (good with percentages/fractions/decimals), you must take care to key data in to the system accurately as the adjustments effect stock prices and therefore gross profit. A*-B in Maths GCSE would be preferable.

Hours - Monday - Friday - 9am - 5pm with an early finish on a Friday

Salary - £19,500 - £21,000 this is very negotiable for the right person therefore if you have the relevant experience please send your CV outlining your salary expectations.
