Shift pattern
Week 1 Wed - Sat 6am to 6pm
Week 2 Thurs - Sat 6am to 6pm

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Production Planner to join our FMCG client in Worcestershire. This is a high paced and dynamic role with the site producing a high volume of lines which are sold through all the Supermarket Multiples including the discounters.

The business is going through a period of change and are looking to add strong candidates to the team to enable them to make their own mark and shape the business for the future.

Main duties and responsibilities:

* Plan the day-to-day activity of the factory through cost effective planning using customer orders and available forecast information
* Review production performance throughout the shift to ensure planned requirements will be effectively achieved and manage the consequence of any unforeseen issues
* Maintain current forecasting tools to plan to the most accurate forecast figures
* Maintain planning systems with product spec changes and new launches
* Initiate/set-up following week's plans to ensure accurate information is readily available for optimisation of cross functional activity, i.e. the ordering of relevant components
* Efficiently plan labour, producing a labour requirement plan for Production teams to work to in-order to produce product through the most cost effective manor
* Liaise with all internal departments as required, both on site and at head office to ensure plan requirements are understood and achieved
* Plan to maintain a consistently high service level with a target of 100%
* Collate and report performance against set KPI's
* Maintain and monitor WIP and finished product stocks whilst minimising waste, putting in place action plans to target/eliminate any potential waste through discussing with Sales or changing planning criteria to fit accordingly
* Continually looking to identify and implement improvement initiatives that reduce labour spend and waste costs.

The Person

* Good understanding of production and planning principles with strong communication and influencing skills
* Worked within a very fast moving environment within a Planning or similar role
* Operated within an environment with the requirement to maintain within strict budgetary limits
* Excellent PC skills - in particular Advanced level skill on Excel and intermediate or above on Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
* Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and oral
* Must be well organised, able to plan own work and self start
* Strong numeracy skills with the ability to analyse data and find areas for improvement.
* Adaptable, hands on approach
* A drive for improvement and problem solving
* A level of drive is required to persevere when all information is not clear or directly at hand.
* Ability to retain composure during tough times/when resisted or blocked or during employee relations issues
* Demonstrates a readiness to make decisions, take the initiative and originate action whilst ensuring a high degree in integrity and accountability
* Flexibility - Successfully adapts to changing demands and conditions
* Personal motivation - Commits self to work hard towards goals. Shows enthusiasm and career commitment.
