The Role

Dovetail is looking for a Production Support Analyst (Java, Oracle) to support our global and growing client base. With responsibility for Incident and Problem management for mission critical Java-based software, you will be the "go-to" point for our global customer base. A natural communicator, you will be responsible for all support issues, problem-solving directly with our clients. Frequent written and timely correspondence with external customers will be required as is the use of Service Management tools and methodologies. You will even have the opportunity to gain your ITIL V3 Foundation as part of your training. There is frequent contact with colleagues across the business, but specifically with business analysts, the team lead and developers.

The Person

The ideal candidate is responsible for critical thinking, root-cause analysis, triaging of issues and overall production support analysis. You will possess a high level of commitment in carrying out the Company's vision, mission and values.

- As a minimum, a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering required
- 2+ years Java and 2+ years JEE (extensive JMS), which must be recent
- 2+ years Oracle or other RDBMS experience
- 1+ years XML
- Deep understanding of Service Management in a commercial customer-facing enterprise.
- Must possess a verifiable ITIL V3 Foundation certificate or be willing to obtain one within the first two months of employment
- Must have experience of Application Servers.
- WebLogic or WebSphere is desirable
- Must be assertive and diplomatic with the ability to handle conflicting priorities
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours when necessary
- Possesses a strong customer focus and exceptional communication skills positive attitude and willingness to seek out information
- Experience and understanding of Project lifecycle e.g.: scope management, change control and process management
- Project Management experience in Banking Payments is desirable but not essential.
- Experience and / or understanding of product delivery and implications for the project delivery life cycle
