Micheldever Tyres, is the UK`s largest independent tyre wholesaler, distributor and retailer who sell one in every five tyres replaced by UK motorists. Our board leads a Group that now employs in excess of 1300 employees, operating across an expanding network of over 90 centres.

Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a Stock Manager to be based at our Halifax site. Our Halifax warehouse is a busy hub, holding a quarter of a million units and 8000 lines.

What will I be responsible for?

Reporting to the Site Manager you will be responsible for the efficient, accurate management and movement of stock on Site and between Warehouses, Retail Branches and Customers. You will take a proactive approach to the role, regularly reviewing working practices and procedures within your department to effectively drive performance levels. Day to day accountabilities will include

- Managing a team of 9 individuals
- Ensuring that all stock control processes are adhered to as per company specification.

- Achieve stock accuracy targets and KPI's as agreed with Site Manager.
- Audit physical stock against computerised stock system to ensure records are accurate
- Organise and implement periodic Stock Audits in line with Company requirements.
- Report all discrepancies in deliveries to all relevant parties
- Where no Site Manager is available, make decisions with regards to delivery issues and clearly and accurately report to all sales'.
- Plan for in-coming deliveries.
- Liaise with Shift Managers to effect communication and optimize efficiency and accuracy of put-away' / overstocks / available space and accessibility.
- Ensure the accurate recording and documentation of all stock movements adjustments and errors within the Warehouse.
- Ensure stock rotation principles are applied in line with Company requirements.
- Report on all Slow Movers' and Over Stocks' and replenishment requirements to Site Manager.

Who are we looking for?

As our ideal Stock Manager, you will be able to demonstrate proven experience of stock management in a warehouse environment. As a minimum standard you must have the following skills and experience:

- Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively motivate your team.
- Proven management experience
- Have a keen eye for details and be literate and numerate.
- The ability to work under pressure, on your own initiative and as part of the warehouse team.
- Have an enthusiastic and flexible approach to your work.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety practices within the warehousing environment.

In return for your hard work as a Stock Manager, you can expect to receive a highly competitive basic salary of £30,000 OTE plus a range of benefits.
