Experienced Purchasing Specialist required - Global client offering an outstanding opportunity to join their rapidly expanding team, located in Edinburgharea.

The role requires the following skills, experience and responsibility for the following

Position Responsibilities

- Reviews purchase requests for completeness and compliance with company requirements.
- Coordinate purchasing activities with engineering and planning departments to acquire inventory in cost effective and timely manner.
- Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers.
- Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity; creates and maintains supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information in an ERP system.
- Activities related to the purchasing of materials, equipment and services for internal company
- Individual will provide analytical and application support for Procurement function for all the clients sites acrossall of Europe.
- Follows Procurement guidelines to monitor, measure, improve, analyze, and implement Procurement processes and client requirements in completing assignments. Individual must excel under limited supervision.
- SAP Operations (Tactical, Ongoing Maintenance and Clean-Up Efforts and Streamlining Efforts)
- Assist others in buying, developing specifications, or selecting sources
- Handle a variety of inquiries and develops solutions for moderately complex issues
- Monitors costs/expenses and negotiates with suppliers on cost, quality and delivery terms
- Adapts differing techniques and methods to deal with variations in work conditions and operations to solve complex problems
- Provides training on key system improvement initiatives and measures that are critical to the business

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline prefered (Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration)
- The ability to effectively handle a variety of non-routine and difficult inquiries.
- Experience of determining and implementing solutions regarding distribution of business, negotiation or commodity strategy, supplier management, source of supply, etc.
- Ability to influence the integration of sourcing guidelines, relative to assigned commodity group, into the client's business requirements.
- Background of actively managing external suppliers to deliver improved benefits to the clients areas such as technology, quality, responsiveness, delivery, and cost.
- Prior procurement experience in SAP ECC 6.0 or above
- Advanced level excel skills
