They have the most advanced laboratory facilities and support customers in investigation, land remediation, waste monitoring and groundwater management. MCERTS and UKAS accredited, their customers include leading multi-disciplinary and environmental consultants, contractors and specialist waste management companies.

Position: Customer Services / Project Coordinator
Location: Chester, Cheshire
Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm (with a 5pm finish on Friday)
Salary: Circa £17,000 per annum

Reporting to the Customer Services Team Leader you will be the main point of contact for all aspects of customer queries and develop a good working relationship with a designated list of key client accounts in addition to sharing responsibility for a list of shared customer accounts. Key responsibilities include:

- Respond in a timely and professional manner to all customer enquiries, both externally and internally
- Interpreting customer instructions in order to manage turn around and schedule analysis for the laboratory using the Laboratory Information Management System
- Conduct technical discussions with customers about types of analysis including methods, detection limits and sample volumes
- Organise logistical customer requests for delivery and collection of sample containers
- Check invoices against work scheduled as required to ensure their accuracy
- Coordinate the feedback of results to customers in electronic format

About you:

The successful candidate will be ideally qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in chemistry, environmental science or a related subject. Previous customer service experience is essential to this role and ideally the successful candidate will have experience using a laboratory information system or similar database system. Candidates must be computer literate with a good working knowledge of the Windows suite including Word, Excel and Outlook software.

Good interpersonal, communication, influencing and negotiating skills are essential, including a professional telephone manner. The job holder must be able to work on their own initiative and manage their own time. The role demands a pro-active, organised individual able to multi-task.
