My Client provides training and education in engineering and technology to a range of employers in West Cumbria. The scope of training provision includes engineering apprenticeships, NVQ's, further education and higher education programmes.

My Client is seeking to appoint a Trainee Lecturer or Qualified Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. The position would suit a highly-motivated individual with a keen interest in the development and delivery of innovative and effective training programmes with a strong vocational element. The successful candidate would be expected to play a full part in the development of their higher education programmes, including lecturing, project supervision and curriculum development, engaging with industry representatives as required.

Duties: Lecturing and curriculum development in mechanical design, including solid mechanics, dynamics, thermo-fluid mechanics, energy and electro-mechanical principles, project management and engineering mathematics. Teaching duties will extend to BEng Hons level.

Qualifications: Essential: A minimum of BEng Hons at Class 2.1 or above in a relevant engineering or science discipline. Desirable: A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline; CertEd or equivalent.

Experience: Desirable: Experience in the application of mechanical design in an industrial or academic environment; knowledge of the civil nuclear industry.
