Salary: circa £60'000 per annum, potentially negotiable for the right individual

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Improvement Manager to lead a team to deliver significant improvements around engineering/maintenance activities and engineering projects. This is an exciting time to join our client as they continue to invest in their manufacturing capability to support their strategic growth plan.

Reporting directly to the Director and General Manager you will be responsible for the design and delivery of engineering and capital improvement projects to ensure that our client manufacture products in the most efficient and cost effective manner whilst continually promoting the highest quality and safest manufacturing methodology. You will therefore need to be an exceptional communicator and negotiator, able to sell and deliver your ideas for continuous improvement and machinery enhancement combined with extensive major engineering project management experience.

Key Responsibilities will include:

* Scoping and implementation of engineering projects and improvements, ranging from small specific improvement initiatives right through to multi-million pound major capital developments from concept to capital application and through to delivery
* Project managing the, installation and commissioning through to hand over of those projects to the on-site operations team
* Creating and managing the entire Company wide engineering budget
* Supporting the Company's Continuous Improvement Programmes
* Managing the front-line engineering team to ensure they provide a comprehensive breakdown, planned/preventative maintenance and continuous improvement service to deliver operational goals and targets
* Developing and delivering a constantly evolving and high quality engineering program that supports continuous improvement
* Following and contributing to the development of Best Practice guidelines

To be considered you will need:

* Extensive Engineering, Maintenance and Project management experience of manufacturing environments and major capital engineering projects within a manufacturing environment whilst delivering on time and within budget
* Proven engineering capability and experience to create effective engineered solutions
* A degree level qualification in mechanical or process engineering would be desirable but not essential
* Ability to manage change and influence a culture of continuous improvement
* Ideally NEBOSH or equivalent Health and Safety qualification
