To apply you should be able to demonstrate a background working as a Maintenance Engineer / Operative for a FMCG manufacturing company or at least working on automated production lines relative to the food industry. You must also be open to a mixture of nights and days shift work (likely to be 4 on 4 off but this is subject to change).

My client is part of an international group and one of the largest food manufacturers in Europe. They have been present in the UK for over a decade and sell a range of French bakery products to major UK food retailers, wholesale and food service markets. The company is still family run and has a great culture and history. They also present in Europe, South Korea and USA.

They have a 160,000 sq.ft. technologically advanced production facility to service the UK market in order to continue the strong growth of the company.

Main tasks
o Conduct repairs and maintenance by yourself
o Painting and decorating, small building repairs like plumbing, plaster work, brick work etc.
o Maintenance of the garden, car park and the yard
o Conduct planned preventative inspection, testing and repairs to pre-set programmes
o Liaising with external contractor
o Any other associated maintenance work

Ideal candidates
o will have a background of general maintenance / DIY work
o will be highly proactive, autonomous and who has a logical and organised approach
o will be confident working with equipment's
o will be comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.
o will have attention to details
o having forklift and/or platforms licence would be an added advantage

This job may involve heavy lifting at times. Should have good knowledge of Health and Safety
Hours of work are 46 per week but flexibility is essential. PPE and tools will be provided.
