Worldwide market leading multinational engineering company working with clients are within the automotive, scientific, pharmaceutical, electronics, oil and gas and food processing industries are seeking a Distribution Support Sales Engineer. You will need to have some experience of technical sales, the company offers excellent training and career progression!!!

Location: Bristol

With a passion for design and strategic commitment to innovation, the company is celebrating to be included for the third consecutive year in Forbes magazine's most innovative Company's list. We are currently looking to recruit a distribution support sales engineer to be based in the Bristol area.

To increase area market share by seeking out, developing and maintaining customers for fluid power and motion control products, whilst maximizing personal productivity and cost-effectiveness.

Main Tasks:
 Manage distribution sales channel to maximize sales growth, whilst minimizing transaction cost
 Sales budget, growth and market share gain
 User data collection
 Transaction costs
 Produce, implement and maintain Area Plans for sufficient accounts such that personal targets can be achieved
 Prepare and implement an Account Development plan for key accounts
 Ensure service expectations are met
 Ensure all business is transacted in the most economic manner
 Ensure contact network in all users is fully developed
 Ensure remaining potential (competitor business) is aggressively targeted using Lanchester principles
 Identify, qualify and register new business users
 Identify, qualify and register new investment projects
 Ensure all distributors comply with the Distribution Agreement
 Liaise with Logistics and conduct consignment and bin-managed reviews
 Ensure distributions are trained and effective with Workplace and work with the ISM to ensure that distributors can check P&D’s, order placement etc.
 Maintain accurate, current and relevant records, as requested, on such systems as are provided
 Ensure the company’s sales, operations and financial goals and strategies are understood and implemented by the sales team
 Create, implement and own a business plan for the division using the company’s strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability
 Ensure the sales team meet or exceed expected standards in the Key Performance Indicators
 Work with Distribution, Production and Industries teams to maximize benefit to both the company and the customer
 Help sales people prepare action plans for effective attack, development and maintenance of targeted accounts
 Initiate and coordinate development of RFS/NPDP to penetrate new markets and customers
 Ensure full participation in product promotions of the sales team
 Hold monthly sales meetings to ensure clear communication of Company’s policy and consistent direction of the salesforce
 Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding sales performance, sales activity, competitor activity, orders won/lost, project and market trends and division profitability
 Apply User Price Management principles to provide timely, accurate, & competitive pricing on all quotation requests
 Control expenses to meet budget guidelines and in accordance with Company policy
 In conjunction with Human Resources, recruit, test and hire sales engineers based on criteria agreed by senior management
 Submit call data for all customer-related activity on SUGAR after each call
 Communicate all sales related instructions to Sales Management and Head Office via the correct process

Make profitable sales to customers through:
 Learning the customer’s business needs
 Selling value concepts
 Building one-to-one relationships with target user contacts

Product promotion:
 Learn the features, benefits, options and applications for all catalogued products
 Produce New Product Development Proposals (NPDP’s) to communicate customer needs to HQ
 Promote New Products to all customers
 Promote Simple, Engineered and Configured Special products to meet customer needs
 Actively participate in product campaigns and surveys as requested
 Know the competition and report on their capability and activity within the sales area.

As required:
 Attend sales meetings, training sessions and exhibitions as required
 Undertake any special projects or tasks that may be required
