We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join a company developing cutting edge electromechanical systems for the Global Space Industry. Due to high demand for their core technology, the company has a bulging order book and need a capable Technical Project Manager to deliver the projects -on time, on budget and to the required specification. As a key member of the management team, the Project Manager will need prior experience of managing engineering R&D projects within a highly regulated industry such as Space, Aerospace, Defence or possibly Automotive.

As a Project Manager (Space Industry) you will:
* Project manage a diverse portfolio of Product Development projects (size of projects varies, generally between £100k to £1million, average project duration 18 - 24 months)
* Manage the full project life-cycle from bid generation and contract negotiation through detailed planning, project delivery and final close out.
* Financial planning, managing and reporting of Product Development projects
* Work package and task management following best-practice project-management philosophies centred on the APMP qualification or PRINCE2 methodology
* Motivate, supervise and facilitate multi-disciplined teams on a matrix management basis
* Resource management of the Product Development team
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of the business
* Reporting to the Delivery Manager and the wider business

Essential Skills and Experience:
* BSc or BEng / MEng Degree qualified in a technical discipline (eg Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering , Mechatronics, Space Systems, Physics, etc)
* Proven experience of Project Management for the delivery of Electro Mechanical Products in a highly regulated industry such as Space, Aerospace, Automotive, Defence or similar
* Previous experience of leading teams, project planning and reporting
* Strong communication skills at all levels with an ability to provide solutions
* Ability to work well under pressure to demanding timescales
* Strong IT skills including MS Office, MS Project
* Enthusiastic, hardworking and professional approach essential.

Salary: highly negotiable circa £45k - £55k + Benefits package
