One of the UK's leading process control and automation consultancies are looking for a Automation Technical Specialist to join their expanding team

Currently very active in the Utilities, Water, Food, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing and Nuclear sectors.

This role requires an understanding of the project lifecycle from concept through to completion.

This includes the development of Design Documentation, configuration of PLCs, SCADA, HMI, Testing and commissioning.

Our project solutions are typically based on Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Wonderware, Schneider and various legacy technologies.

We are re-known for our attention to details and our ability to deliver the right solution.

As part of the team your responsibilities will be primarily the design and implementation of control systems, coupled with the ability to communicate and present well to provide associated advisory services.

The focus for the role is as follow:
- To support technically across the company portfolio of projects to overcome technical challenges, assist with new product implementation, provide specialist knowledge for specialist aspects of the projects, and provide Front End Engineering Design solutions.
- To develop knowledge of products/technologies and transfer knowledge to others.
- To support business development with technical demonstration/proposal of new product and technologies
- To undertake consultancy assignments

In addition to the core disciplines involved in control and automation, the following technologies are of specific interest:
- Historian and Reporting
- Batch solution
- Operational Intelligence and Manufacturing Analytics
- Database Development
- Web technologies (bespoke development and dashboard type products)
- Wonderware System Platform and bespoke development
- Virtualisation
- Server technologies
- Mobile Platform

We are looking for a high calibre self-starter, control and automation professional, capable of operating at high level within the company.

This role requires an understanding of the project lifecycle from concept through to completion.

- Degree in a relevant IT or engineering subject and member of the relevant engineering bodies.
- CISCO, Microsoft certification in Networking / Application Development /Database design and administration would be an advantage
- Demonstrable track record in Technical Lead roles
- 10 or more years control system design experience in a similar role.
- Niche skillset and the ability to grasp new product and technologies
- Have high intellect and potentials to evolve within the company.
- Good written and communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
