Position - Senior Electrical Engineer (Building Services)

The Manchester office is a true multidisciplinary office, with strong Buildings, Infrastructure and Consulting teams in addition to specialists such as Lighting, Fire, Acoustics and Sustainability. Their Building Services team is part of a sub-regional business unit with engineers based in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Sheffield. The Manchester office is well established with over 32 engineers, in addition to their BIM technicians and associated specialist consultants. Currently the team is heavily involved in large multidisciplinary projects for the Universities of Manchester and Liverpool John Moores, as well as theatres, commercial office projects, hotels, healthcare, residential, stadia and leisure centres in the UK and internationally

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer who is looking for technically challenging work on iconic projects, to join an established Building Services Engineering team in Manchester. As a Senior Electrical Engineer with drive and experience you will be a key part of the Building Services Engineering team leadership; managing multidisciplinary projects while providing technical support and mentoring to the other Electrical engineers.

Your role will be to lead in a dynamic, challenging and stimulating environment with opportunities to apply your knowledge and expertise to a range of exciting projects. You will be involved in feasibility, design and site stage activities of major and minor building projects (new and refurbishment).

Essential Skills and Knowledge;
Take an active role in pushing forward the skills and abilities of the electrical team members, including supervising and training junior engineers
Lead building projects of various sizes, taking an active role in project leadership and client facing activity
Take an active role in building services design elements for both small and major projects working closely with other team members
Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs
Offer consultancy advice and prepare design reports, specifications and drawings in a timely fashion and within budget
Support graduate engineers with technical expertise and mentor less experienced team members
Share and expand knowledge through participation at relevant skills networks

Desirable Skills and Knowledge;
Experience of working in a wide variety of sectors

Chartered status through CIBSE, IET or other relevant body and degree qualified; or
Working towards Chartership with a Masters Engineering Degree or equivalent
