Nights Team Leader (Fixed Term Position)

The successful applicant will organise and control human resources in order to continuously improve, maintain safety, meet targets, adhere to quality standards and maximise productivity. They will be instrumental in creating and sustaining a good working environment, and encouraging team working, flexibility and adherence to procedures.

Nights Team Leader (Fixed Term Position)
Key accountabilities
• Ensure the Health & Safety of all employees and others in their areas of control
• Identify and plan the allocation of labour to achieve departmental targets
• Hold pre-shift meetings and communicate appropriately to ensure efficient multi-disciplinary team working and to ensure people are sufficiently informed of any changes
• Manage departmental performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets, report progress regularly and implement recovery plans to address non-achievement of targets
• Ensure quality standards are met and fully support all problem-solving initiatives
• Continually seek to improve existing working practices and exceed targets and standards set
• Maintain 5s standards
• Manage the skills and performance of direct reports
• Supporting and acting upon the findings of health and safety audits, risk assessments and accident investigations promptly, taking action where appropriate to address any areas of concern
• Ensure employees observe health and safety measures, including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Liaise with support functions
• Manage absenteeism and ensure any employee issues are dealt with and resolved in a timely manner
• Complying with organisational policies, procedures and working practices
• Working as part of a team and supporting colleagues
• General administration duties
• Carrying out any other duties as deemed appropriate for the role

Health Safety Environmental
• To assist effective implementation of all relevant HSE management systems, policies and practices across all business improvement team activities, at Doncaster’s Deritend
• To support the health safety & environmental policy implementation, objectives and targets and management programmes.
• To assist in the assessment of risks and the development of subsequent Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments
• Liaise with the health safety & environmental team for specific guidance on implementing the standard elements of 18001 and 14001.
• Ensure Accident Investigations are carried out & Control / Counter Measures implemented
• Training needs are identified in order to that all personnel under their control can carry out their tasks safely
• If on site and senior person to take ownership in the event of emergency evacuation from site and liaise with the Emergency Services.
