This is a great opportunity to join the UK division of a global engineering / manufacturing company as an Information Systems / IT Administrator. This is an urgent requirement and candidates will be considered on a temporary to permanent basis with an immediate start available for the successful applicant.
Reporting to the Information Systems (IS) Manager and working within a small team that includes Help Desk Support, your remit will be to resolve IS issues (hardware and software) and to play an active part in the design, recommendation and maintenance of systems and software to ensure that the company operates efficiently. Duties, performance measures and success factors will include:
• Use of helpdesk software to log, solve and report user / system faults. Software used includes MS Office, MS Access & Sharepoint, SAP etc.
• Ensuring that company IS procedures and policies are aligned to group requirements
• Design, manage and implement IS projects, including CAD
• Maximise the full use of systems across the business providing support, advice and training – this will include system and software upgrades
• Performing all back-up processes for IT / IS
• Supervision of the Help Desk Administrator pa
• Maintenance and development of the Intranet
• Maintain all systems documentation and licences – keeping them fully up to date and compliant
• General care and maintenance of PC’s and hardware including network cabling adjustments and peripheral device connectivity
• Provision of all IT anti-virus security
• Ensuring that the IS function operates within budget
The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
• Several years’ experience of working within an IT / IS support role, ideally within the engineering / manufacturing sector
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office programs and ideally ERP, CRM and CAD software
• Prior Help Desk experience would be beneficial
• Great communication skills with the ability to understand and resolve IT issues for non-IT people!
• Eligible to work in the UK on a permanent full time basis and happy tp do some travel if required (UK and possibly international
