Buyer - Supply Chain

A Buyer with Supply Chain experience in the Aerospace, Engineering and Defence markets are required to work a permanent basis for our Manufacturing client based in the Blackburn area.

Overview of the Sub Contract Manager role

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Buyer will be responsible for the order and control of parts for specified areas. The Buyer will play a key role in the administration and communication within the Purchasing Team and will provide assistance to the Supply Chain Manager and the Purchasing team in achieving cost reductions, supply initiatives and improving supplier performance.

Key skills required for the Sub Contract Manager

* Currently hold or working towards CIPS Membership
* Degree Level or Equivalent/ relevant work experience
* Sound working knowledge and understanding of procurement within Engineering and manufacturing markets within Defence and Aerospace industries.
* Ability to perform to demanding deadlines.
* Minimum 3 years procurement experience within a manufacturing environment

* Ability to follow instructions
* Use own initiative
* Displays enthusiasm for the work
* Ability to work unsupervised
* Good Organisation Skills

The role is based in the Blackburn area, Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds.
