A well-established precision engineering company with clients in various market sectors including Aerospace, Motorsport, Automotive and Defence are moving into their next growth phase and are looking to recruit an Operations Manager. You will be working with a strong management team and be a key player in driving the business on to the next level.

Job Profile

With this new growth phase, the company is looking for an Operations Manager to be involved in every aspect of the Production process from purchasing, production planning, quality, client liaison and distribution. Taking ownership of the production area and run it as your own business working alongside the Directors, building a solid team around you. You will also have a key involvement in the growth plan and strategy of the business moving forward. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager looking to join a growing business that is driven and keen for success.

• Managing a successful operation including a Precision Engineering Workshop
• You will be responsible for 40 staff in various positions
• Responsible for different functions: manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, health and safety, supply chain, distribution and customer service
• Managing and controlling complete production and teams in order to successfully complete all orders in line with customer expectations
• Maintaining a profitable production at all times by optimising cost performance and reducing waste
• Proactively driving the implementation of Lean/ Six Sigma, 5S methodologies
• Driving through quality improvement in product and management systems
• Estimating costs and setting the quality standards
• Liaising with other Managers to ensure clients expectations are meet

Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience in operations management and continuous improvement with in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
• Lean/ Six Sigma 5S experience is desirable
• Commercial awareness, financial acumen and strong strategic and operational experience
• Strong leadership and team building skills


• 08.30 – 17.00 Monday – Thursday, Friday early finish 12.30
