Instrumentation Engineer – Field Based – North West - £23-28k + overtime + vehicle

Samuel Frank Associates require an Instrumentation Engineer ( temperature, pressure, flow and level ) for a field based role covering mainly the North West region with occasional site work expected in Cumbria and Yorkshire. The successful Instrumentation Engineer will commission, calibrate, service, fault find and repair a range of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation equipment.

The client is a very well established Automation & Instrumentation business with a growth plan in place to service an increasing amount of work from current customers as well as delivering projects for an expanding base of new customers. The client offers a friendly, supportive working environment where Engineers stay for many years

You’ll be provided with a company vehicle and travel to sites to carry out the set ups and installation work. The key to this position is finding someone with the right attitude and approach. The role is likely to best suit an Engineer with 2-4 years experience looking to join a company where they can develop technically as well as professionally. This opportunity could ultimately lead into a senior/management level position for the right person.

The role will pay overtime for hours worked over the standard 40/week and is a days/Monday to Friday position.

Key responsibilities include –

· Commission, calibrate, maintain and repair instrumentation both in-house and on site.
· To liaise with customers when required prior to executing the job to ensure full understanding of the
nature of the job
· To adhere to site safety rules, permit to work systems and carry out risk assessments.
· To work to local and industry procedures and to comply with industry codes of practice and company
quality management system.
· Occasional overnight stays may be required.

To be suitable for this opportunity you’re likely to have the following -

· A suitable qualification or apprenticeship preferably in electronics or instrumentation of control.
· Recent experience of commissioning, calibration, service, fault finding and repair of a range of
electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation.
· To be highly self-motivated
· A flexible approach to working activities.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
· The ability to develop good working relationships with customers.
· The ability to train towards Appointed Person and/or Competent Person accreditation.
· Good organisational skills, excellent punctuality and timekeeping.
Whilst you’ll be out on the road most of the time the client’s premises for office visits, paperwork/certifications etc. are commutable from Bury, Rochdale, Heywood, Burnley, Blackburn, Accrington, Darwen and Bolton
