Field Service Engineers - Instrumentation and Calibration x 2

Manchester to c£30k (neg dep exp) + o/t + bonus + pension + van

Our client specialise in the manufacture, calibration and service of a range of process instrumentation solutions for a diverse range of applications across the globe. As a result of ongoing success and expansion, they are now seeking to recruit a number of field based electrical and instrumentation field service engineers and calibration engineering professionals to complement their established service department.

Covering the North of England, successful field service engineers will be tasked with a range of electrical installation, commissioning, calibration, fault finding and surveying activities on electrical systems, initially focussed around instrumentation services but developing into more electrical biased activities as the business sector expands. You will commission, calibrate and repair onsite process instrumentation and liaise closely with the service co-ordinators to ensure that all spares, tools and paperwork are available to you in order to enable you to carry out these duties.

You will also liaise with customers when required prior to executing works in order to ensure a full understanding of the nature of the job and also to advise of both estimated time of arrival and of any delays which may be anticipated, adhering to site safety rules and permit to work systems as required and conducting risk assessments accordingly. You will also work in line with both local and industry wide processes and procedures and will ensure compliance with industry codes of practice and the company quality management system at all times.

With a predominantly North of England customer base and reporting to the Service Manager, you will provide service support to nearly every production and processing market including food and beverage, power, pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical and water industries and will deal with customers at all levels, so excellent technical abilities and customer communication skills are an essential requirement for the positions. You will also demonstrate industry recognised electrical qualifications (17th edition IEE regs) and will provide commissioning, calibration, service, fault finding and repair of a range of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation. Ideally you will also be "COMPEX" trained although training can be provided.

To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that successful candidates will be qualified to at least ONC level in a relevant electronics, electrical or instrumentation & control qualification, with knowledge of PLC's, Scada systems and HMI interfaces proving distinctly advantageous, and having successfully completed a relevant Instrumentation / Process Control apprenticeship. You will possess exceptional problem solving and diagnostic skills and be highly self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. Additionally, you will demonstrate a flexible approach to working activities and excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with customers around the region.

In return, an attractive remuneration package, expensed company van (clean driving licence is required), company pension scheme, overtime and bonuses are available for suitably experienced and enthusiastic Field Service Engineers seeking a fresh challenge within a stable and progressive environment.
