: Description:

The Real Estate team, part of the Alternatives portfolio, manages over multi billion in private and public real estate equity and debt in the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The team manages investments on behalf of public and private pension plans, insurance companies, foundations, endowments and private investors. The platform manages a broad array of investment strategies, including core, value-add and opportunistic, through separate accounts and commingled funds. Our extensive experience encompasses many major geographies as well as all major property types including office, industrial, retail.

Job Purpose/Background:

Working within the Real Estate Asset Management and Transaction team, executing initiatives for directly held properties and sourcing investment opportunities covering all sectors and regions across the UK.

The role will involve the management of some key existing and future retail assets for our clients UK Property Fund, maintaining the performance of these assets, defining and implementing strategies and completing their dispositions when required.

The Asset Manager will also support the EMEA Real Estate Investment Team responsible for sourcing and underwriting investment opportunities and executing business plans for the flagship European Funds.

The asset manager will act as a leader, supervising junior members of the team and representing our asset and development capabilities on the ground.


Have primary, but not an exclusive, focus on managing the current and future retail assets of the funds

Supervise the preparation of business plans for some key assets held by the two funds and be responsible for the delivery of these business plans

Manage and support other team members responsible for retail assets

Source and advise the Fund managers on acquisition and disposal strategies particularly in relation to retail and retail-led mixed use assets

Report on a regular basis to the Fund managers, team and EIC quarterly review as to progress with delivering the strategy and business plans.

Manage relationships with sector wide tenants, operational partners and developers

Skills and Qualifications:

MRICS qualified or equivalent with good contacts in the leasing and investment agency community

Good knowledge of the UK retail sector

A track record of successfully investing in and asset managing retail assets

Ideally some retail development experience

Experience in appraising assets and running investment and development cash flows in Argus and excel

Sound understanding of valuation fundamentals, property market pricing, and the use of Circle Investor, Developer and Excel Programs

Able to demonstrate success in career to date and notable achievements (appropriate to the level of experience)
