Senior Vendor Manager (Professional Services)

Location: Plymouth

Salary: 33,000 - 40,000 plus benefits

Our client is currently experiencing an exciting period of growth and are therefore seeking varying levels of Vendor Management specialists to join their team. As a Senior Vendor Manager you will manage the Vendor Management team and supplier network, ensuring strong relationships are built enabling leverage for 'best service for best price' at all times and support business needs.

Key Accountabilities:

Line manage, support and mentor the Assistant Vendor Managers (AVM's)

Monitor workload and oversee outputs to SLA's and assist / mentor AVM's where required

Preparation of Management Information (KPIs) for the VM team and as per contract requirements

Participate in scoping meetings individually, in support of AVM;s and in liaison with Head of Vendor Management (HVM)

Construct RFI/RFP/RFQ's using appropriate criteria and manage the tender process for strategic projects. Including sourcing, negotiating and contracting with suppliers in response to client request.

Maintain and manage Supplier risks and issues. Lead the escalation and resolution of issues relating to suppliers with the customer service team and HVM to resolve service issues and maintain quality standards

Support HVM in development, implementation and maintenance of Supplier Relationship Management plans (SRM)

Support and delegate in collecting and analysing benchmark data

Continuously search market and meet best in class / innovative Suppliers to understand their capabilities

Skills and Experience:

High level of personal and interpersonal skills, including strong communication, planning and organisation skills

Understanding and proven experience of supply chain management, vendor selection and negotiating and agreeing preferential rates with suppliers

Strong and proven ability to negotiate continuous, high and low contract values, with suppliers

Able to build effective supplier relationships.

Logical, analytical approach with good attention to detail and the ability to interpret data and other information accurately

Able to communicate and present management KPI reports and information in an effective, relevant, and timely manner for the appropriate audience (internal or external)

Able to demonstrate IT expertise and knowledge of data presentation, e.g. use of databases and running reports, excel spread sheets, graphs etc.

Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Line management or mentoring experience (professional or otherwise)

Expertise / experience in Contract Law and terminology

Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations (CIPS Level 4 or 3) (preferable but not essential)
