My client, a leading consultancy are currently seeking an experienced Principal Ecologist to join their team in Manchester on a permanent basis. This position offers a competitive salary from £3000 to £40000.

Your role will involve project management and implementation of ecological surveys, consultation, assessment and mitigation in support of the consultancies client's proposals and operations. You will produce high quality reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Species Reports, Ecological Impact Assessments, Habitats Regulation Assessments and ecological input to Environmental Statements.

Essential Requirements:

* A first degree in a relevant subject (Ecology, Biology, Zoology, etc.)
* Full membership of CIEEM, and chartered or eligible for chartership
* Relevant experience in ecological impact assessment in support of EIA
* At least one protected species survey license
* Significant experience in the preparation of ecology proposals and tenders
