Our client is a leading national planning consultancy, and they are seeking either a Planner / Senior Planner to join an expanding Town Planning team based in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

The ideal candidate will have achieved full RTPI status. They will have studied a relevant RTPI accredited degree in Town and Country Planning. The Planner / Senior Planner will be expected to have experience in both the commercial and residential sectors for private or public sector clients. You could be a chartered Town Planner who has passed their APC or a Planner working towards chartered status.

You will be supporting the continuing development and growth of the Newcastle based Planning team. You will work both on an individual basis or with other members of the Planning team on a range of projects in a variety of sectors. You will be expected to assist Directors on delivering key projects with the opportunity to manage project schemes, subject to experience. Predominately you will assist projects to clients within the development and regeneration sectors, drawing on your experience from retail, mixed use and residential for both private and public sector clients.

* Manage of a wide variety of projects from inception to completion
* Demonstrate a high standard of technical competence and professional and ethical standards consistent with best practice
* Be a team player, capable of interacting confidently and comfortably with colleagues
* Work pro-actively under the guidance of the Partners and manage junior team members, whilst helping them work towards their RTPI membership
* Identify opportunities for new business development and build relationships with new clients
* Write proposals for new work and agree fee arrangements, manage budgets for the duration of projects effectively
* Prepare strategic land representations
* Manage community engagement

Essential Requirements
* MRTPI qualified with a minimum of two years post qualification experience
* A degree in Planning or similar professional qualification
* Experience of working for a Planning consultancy
* Experience of presenting at planning committee
* Experience of managing small to medium scale projects
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Strong administrative skills, including report writing and time management

Desirable Requirements
* Managing residential or retail planning applications
* Experience in the preparation and management of appeals
* Experience preparing statements for Examinations in Public
