Our client, a well known and successful Higher Educational body are looking to recruit a Communications Assistant/ Web Editor on a 3 month contract.

This role is based in Middlesex and is working 3 Days per week (Monday - Wednesday), paying £10.82 per hour.

The purpose of this position is to provide first level responses to Library & Student Support enquiries relating to communications and providing support for the design, commissioning and distribution of Library & Student Support publicity across multiple formats. In addition, creating and updating content on University websites.

Key Responsibilities:

* To respond daily to first level responses to Library & Student Support enquiries that relate to communications activity
* Communicate important service updates to students across a range of electronic and printed media
* Design, author and install digital signage on Library plasma screens around the campus.
* Participate in supporting department and University events by updating the Events Calendar, ensuring appropriate materials and staffing are available and providing support throughout events as necessary.
* To assist the Communications Manager in the commissioning and distribution of Library & Student Support publicity, maintaining up-to-date posters and displays across the libraries.
* To contribute to the development of Library & Student Support operational procedures and training manuals.
* Researching, writing and presenting text in ways that appeal to the site's target audience.

Skills Required:

* To have excellent written and spoken English skills and be able to alter your style of writing to reflect your audience.
* To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* To have the ability to follow detailed procedures with minimal supervision.
* To have excellent IT skills, including word processing and use of web-based resources.
* To have ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised in a complex, busy environment
* To have the ability to use initiative and experience to produce publicity materials in new formats.
* To have the ability to prioritise own time and tasks.
* To have a positive approach towards working in a team.
