My client is a national organisation, delivering a comprehensive and flexible range of property services, tailored to meet the needs of both public and private sector clients across the UK. The companies within the business are wholly owned by the public sector, with partner authorities enjoying a share in the companies` success. The business is directed from our head office in Norwich supported by a team of strategic managers.
They offer local delivery supported by national capability, with client services managed and delivered from there network of offices.
Reporting Arrangements and Main Contacts
The Architectural Technician will be accountable to the Lead Architect.
Main Tasks and Accountabilities
1. Act on behalf of the Design Team Leader for projects (where appropriate) liaising with and co-ordinating with other professional or technical staff employed on the project.
2. Carry out all necessary design and technical work including specifications for the various stages of a project from inception to completion in accordance with the RIBA plan of work.
3. Assist with the management of projects including agreeing design team briefs, preparing project programmes, preparing progress reports, preparing stage reports and monitoring project performance against targets and cost.
4. Assist in the preparation of render documentation and provide advice as required in seeking, receiving and accepting tenders
5. Assist with the preparation of the project risk register
6. Assist in the preparation and submit applications for relevant statutory approvals
7. Assist the Contract Administrator for projects in accordance with relevant contract terms.
8. To make visits to other offices when required.
9. Comply with the business policies, procedures and guidelines including the business Health and Safety Policy.
10. To ensure/contribute/lead on the delivery of quality assured, client focused products and services to meet the agreed requirements of the customer.
11. To contribute to the operation and development of the Business Management System to ensure the continuous improvement of quality assured services/products for clients.
12. To carry out other duties appropriate to the level and character of the post.
Key Result Areas
The post holder will be expected to:
1. Assist in the various stages of design (RIBA plan of works) and contract
administration in delivering construction projects to meet prescribed targets in
accordance with all relevant policy, standards and legislation.
Job descriptions are a reflection of the character and work priorities at a given point
in time and it will be essential to review duties and responsibilities, in consultation
with the post holder, from time to time.

Legislation and the Company policy on Health & Safety.
The post holder is required at all times to comply with the provisions of the Data
Protection Act 1998 and with any policy introduced by the business to comply with the Act.

Must have experience working in an Architectural Practice as an Architectural Technician - E
Professional competence as an Architectural Technician - E
Previous relevant experience in a similar client side role - E
Must have experience in dealing with clients at establishment head level - E
Experience in working to agreed targets within a commercial environment - D
Qualifications (Number, type and level of qualification or equivalent experience if appropriate)
Minimum level ONC/OND in Building / Construction or equivalent. - E
Current CITB CSCS card or be prepared to obtain. - E
Skills, knowledge and aptitudes
Must be able to demonstrate relevant up to date CPD records. - E
Understanding of the building process from inception to completion - E
Detailed knowledge of Building Regulations - D
