As a Planning Officer you shall report to the Planning Service Manager and be responsible for the planning evaluation tasks and activities. You will have experience of evaluating the full range of miner and other applications to meet deadlines. In the position of Planning Officer you shall liaise with both external and internal parties and negotiate with applicants and agents, communicating effectively with other members of the team.

Key responsibilities as Planning Officer shall include:
Completion of delegated and committee planning application reports in accordance with the company's agreed key performance indicators, including residential extensions, lawful development certificates, prior notifications, advertisement consents and changes of use
Effective commutation and negotiation with applicants and agents with regards to planning applications, planning queries and post-refusal advice.
Working as a Duty Planning Officer for up to half a day each week, providing face to face planning advice on a range of applications.
Updating applications, compiling reports and recording details of site visits and the evaluation process
Updating customer enquiry database in accordance with key performance indicators.
Attending monthly team meetings and weekly one to one case conferences
Liaising with team members, clients and interested parties
To meet all daily, weekly and monthly key performance indicators targets

As Planning Officer you shall also demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Time Management - completing applications to tight deadlines and the ability to work under pressure.
Self-Motivation - you must be highly motivated to succeed and committed to delivering a quality service.
Excellent Communication - the role will require liaising with both external and internal parties, negotiating with applicants and agents and communicating effectively with other members of the team. Therefore, you will be required to demonstrate that you have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Report Writing -you will be able to demonstrate the ability to write clear and concise planning reports, which provide a full and accurate analysis for the consideration of the line manager.
