Our client specialise in energy, environmental and climate change consultancy and provide expert advice to clients globally. This leading sustainability consultancy are looking to appoint a Principal Ecologist to be based in their Manchester office.

About You

Applying for the role of Principal Ecologist, you will be expected to answer 'yes' to the following:

* Are you currently working as a Senior or Principal Ecologist within an ecological consultancy?
* Do you have experience leading a team of ecologists on challenging projects?
* Are you a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)?
* Have you planned and carried out a wide and varied range of ecological surveys, such as Phase 1 Habitat surveys and Protected Species surveys?
* Do you hold at least one protected species Survey Licence?
* Can you demonstrate significant experience in the preparation of ecology proposals and tenders?

About the Role

As a Principal Ecologist, your role will include:

* Managing and implementing ecological surveys, assessment and mitigation in support of clients' needs
* Producing high quality, well written reports and documentation, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Species Reports and Environmental Statements
* Applying for and overseeing protected species licences
* Liaising with clients and preparing fee proposals
