Job Title: Customer Service Advisor
Skills: The individual must be team orientated with strong customer service and organisational skills. You will also display a strong evidence of building effective customer and insurer relationships. Sales experience necessary. Strong communicator a must.
Salary: £16,000 plus Bonus
Location: Oxted
Qualifications: Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A - C including Mathematics & English.

Working hours are 37.5 per week, 9.00 – 5.30 or 9.30 - 6.00, one Saturday per month in lieu of a day off during the week (this may vary slightly from team to team).

The Role

The purpose of this role will be to assist and carry out insurance administration as required. To provide day to day servicing, and administration of Clients insurance requirements in timely, technically accurate and cost effective manner, in accordance with procedure and performance standards.
• To provide broking and administrative services to clients, confining advice and information to those areas in which the jobholder is deemed competent, otherwise seeking advice as appropriate
• To understand clients situation, opportunities and problems and design of appropriate solutions.
• Ensure where possible, premiums are settled in accordance with company credit control procedures.
• To assist in ensuring that all post and diary activity is completed daily in accordance with the local procedures and performance standards
• To assist team performance by regular communication with colleagues and manager to establish and raise concerns and provide solutions.
• To ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards and external compliance regulations, e.g. FSA
• Develop and maintain positive ongoing relationships with Insurers and Underwriters in a professional manner
• To ensure that any customer complaints are identified and handled strictly within the company’s complaints procedure
• To deal with new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments within authority.
• To process survey requests, policy documents and accounting debits/credits

The Candidate

The successful candidate must have confident and effective telephone skills as well as good interpersonal and communication skills as you will be dealing with both external customers and internal calls/queries. You will have sales, negotiation and a persuasive telephone manner with a natural ability to convert business. You will hold evidence of working within a customer service environment, and insurance knowledge would be beneficial.
You must have:

• Excellent organisational skills
• Sales ability
• Confident computer usage
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel at intermediate level is required
• You must be enthusiastic, pro-active and self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
• Strong customer service skills
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A – C (including Maths and English) or equivalent is essential
